Thanksgiving at Light of Life Rescue Mission is all about neighbors helping neighbors.

Don Waite, affectionately known as the Green Bean Man, has been a fixture in the Light of Life kitchen since 1996.

For nearly 30 years, he has dedicated his Thanksgiving to preparing food for others, focusing on his specialty, green beans.

"Came into work and one of the fellas that knew what he was doing and taught me how to do it, and I helped him a Thanksgiving. And I came back at Christmas time and I said, well, he's not here anymore. Do you think you can handle it? I went, yeah, sure. And that was the beginning," Waite said.
