Robin appears in Batman 's new release, but this version of the Dark Knight's sidekick is not at all what DC fans have come to expect from the hero, with an unlikely character donning the mantle for a brief time. Batman was created in March 1939. A year later, in April 1940, Robin debuted in DC Comics. The characters have been connected for a long time.

As such, it is shocking that most Batman movies do not feature a version of Robin, especially given the many characters who have donned the mantle in the comics. Thankfully, James Gunn's DC Universe is set to change that with a comics-accurate take on Robin and the Bat-Family. However, before then, another Bat-Family project depicts an uncharacteristic Robin.
