Red Wings' lack of checking, defense 'not a sign of a good team'

Detroit – Are the Red Wings a good hockey team?

They appear to be occasionally. They've defeated the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers and Edmonton, the team Florida defeated in the Finals. The Wings have defeated Tampa Bay, Anaheim and Los Angeles, and they all look like quality teams.

And, yet, the Wings have lost twice to Buffalo, and Wednesday lost 6-3 to Nashville, the last-place teams, respectively, in the Eastern and Western conferences.
