GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A Grand Rapids home suffered "significant" damage in a fire on Wednesday night.
According to Grand Rapids Fire Department Battalion Chief Mark Fankhauser, dispatch received a call for a house fire on Dale Street NE near Center Avenue NE around 10:55 p.m.
Fankhouser said crews were on the scene within three minutes to fight the fire. He said bringing the flames under control was a challenge due to strong winds.
No one was in the home when the fire happened, and no one was injured.
Fankhouser said the home suffered significant damage and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
