WACO, Texas (KWTX) - For almost 30 years, Friends for Life has held its Friends for Thanksgiving meal delivery - bringing warm meals to others.
Dozens and dozens of volunteers were up before the sun filling containers with all the Thanksgiving staples: turkey, mashed potatoes, and you can’t forget the pies!
Inez Russell, the Executive Director at Friends for Life says not only does the number of volunteers grow year after year, so does the community they serve.
“We reach out to homebound people primarily people that can’t go in and have Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant and most of the people that we serve are alone so they don’t have family to celebrate Thanksgiving with,” Russell said.
The meals are hand delivered all throughout McLennan County.
This year about 806 boxes went out
