As millions of Americans across the country prepare for Thanksgiving feasts, workers and volunteers at the Humane Society of the Harrisburg Area (HSHA) made sure its residents were not left out.
The shelter on Thursday made special meals for about 105 dogs, 65 cats and other critters, including rabbits, guinea pigs and rats.
“It’s inspiring to see this Thanksgiving tradition carried on by our dedicated volunteers for years, so every dog and cat gets some extra love on this holiday,” said Aspasia Yeager, the shelter’s director of operations. “We’re so grateful for the support of dedicated staff and volunteers who donate, prepare and serve up this home-cooked feast to the animals.”
