Everything we know as weather maps show where 'extensive' snow could fall

Overall Warning and Uncertainty: The Met Office has issued a warning about the chance of "extensive" snow falling across the UK this weekend. Forecasters currently have three possible "low-pressure scenarios" for Saturday, two of which carry the risk of snowfall.

Scenario 1 (Highest Probability): The first and most likely scenario, given a 45 per cent chance, involves the low-pressure system tracking from the south-west of England to East Anglia. This path would bring heavy rain across Wales, central England, and southern England, with snow falling specifically over the southern parts of the Pennines.
