EAST LONGMEADOW – With 12 minutes of regulation left between East Longmeadow football and Longmeadow on Thursday, the Spartans maintained a three-possession lead.
But as those familiar with the sport understand, there was more than enough time for a comeback attempt. And the Lancers were up for the challenge, especially since an opposing errant punt located their offense a spot near midfield just minutes into the fourth quarter.
After an unsuccessful pass attempt, Longmeadow quarterback Brody Harrington connected with Jack Sullivan up the middle for a 45-yard touchdown reception before the junior recorded his first of two extra points.
Though Jake Robidoux countered with a 55-yard, double reverse with East Longmeadow quarterback Kevin Baker as the lead blocker to make it a three-possess
