Mahoning Valley - The tradition of Black Friday is around, but how it's celebrated is continuing to change. After Thanksgiving dinner, the tradition was to wait outside stores for the best bargains. But now, finding those deals is a different experience.
During the pandemic, Black Friday came to a halt.
“Black Friday kind of went away. People weren't going out in crowds. We weren't doing overnight camping for any of these things anymore. Then when finally those restrictions were lifted. Things started to return to the old way,” said Joe Bell, Communications director for the Cafaro Company.
Now, many of the valley stores are staying closed until the morning of Black Friday. The tradition is still being celebrated, especially by a younger crowd.
