Baltimore County police officers are actively searching for a suspect who fled the scene after a shooting on Johnnycake Road on Thursday morning.

“My immediate thought was maybe there was a shooting but that typically hasn’t happened in this area,” said Jess Wilkinson, who lives in the area. “One my roommates told me that there was in fact a shooting and that it was the woman that lives just a few houses down.”

“(My daughter) said it was a lot of police cars outside, she heard a big boom right before that (and) heard someone screaming. I just heard a bunch of commotion up the street,” said Niko Bazemore, who also lives in the area. “It is sad, this is never–it’s always quiet, always quiet here.”

Bazemore said he walked outside to see a number of police cars lining the road.
