Nova Scotia’s Christina Black has pulled off a huge upset at the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials, stunning Team Kerri Einarson 6-3 in Thursday’s tense semi-final.
Black has booked a spot in the final, which begins on Friday, where she’ll face the Trials’ favourite, Rachel Homan. The winner will represent Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina, Italy.
Homan, of Ottawa, two-time reigning Canadian and world champion, will attempt to make her third Olympics. She finished fifth in mixed doubles at the 2022 Games in Beijing and sixth in the women’s team event at 2018 Games in Pyeongchang.
