Users of the Jacques Cartier Bridge will be greeted by a new artistic installation when the South Shore approach area’s redevelopment is completed next year.
Intersection, by visual artist Karole Biron, was selected by the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Inc., the federal agency that manages the bridge announced on Thursday . It said the selection followed a Canada-wide call for applications and was done by a committee consisting of public art experts from Montreal and Longueuil, visual arts specialists and two representatives from the corporation. It also followed a public survey that “identified History and Heritage as the most popular theme, while the values of Peace and Respect received the most votes.”
Biron ‘s other work includes Portée , a sculpture outside the Montreal Hear
