LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Nebraska football team took its annual trip to CHI Health St. Elizabeth to meet some of their biggest supporters and future Huskers ahead of Thursday’s Thanksgiving holiday.
On Tuesday, 20 Husker players spent time with patients and staff at the hospital, including in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and postpartum unit, where they met a few of their smallest fans.
Josiah Madison of Lincoln said his daughter Halsey was born at 37 weeks and has been in the NICU since Saturday.
“We’re unknown on when she’s gonna get out but we’re gonna do whatever it takes to keep her healthy,” Madison said.
Madison, a lifelong Husker fan, said it meant a lot for the Huskers to stop by, take photos and sign autographs.
