A proposed £3m investment to build a Wetherspoons pub at a Welsh holiday park has been abandoned with industry insiders blaming the move on the Welsh Government's visitor levy which could kick in by 2027.

The application for a JD Wetherspoon pub at Presthaven holiday park had received approval from Flintshire County Council earlier this year and was earmarked to be one of five Wetherspoons pubs planned for Haven locations across the UK.
