NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man is recovering this Thanksgiving after police say he was hit by two stray bullets late Wednesday night while inside his home.

The victim was upstairs in his room in his Owendale Drive home when his family told WSMV4 they heard four gunshots outside. The bullets went through the walls, one hitting him in the leg and another grazing his arm, according to his family. Several bullet casings were found on the street.

Metro Nashville Police say they don’t believe he was the intended target and are investigating what happened.

Neighbor Barry Sloan said he woke up to the sound of gunfire, which he says is not uncommon. He says it happens once or twice a week.

“It’s almost become routine in this area,” Sloan said.
