COLUMBIA — It really was off-putting. To the point of impossible, although everyone knew it was true.
This day had to come, and it arrived on Nov. 25. Barring anything crazy happening during this weekend’s rivalry game against Clemson, Luke Doty spoke to the media for the last time.
“It’s hard to believe. It’s been a long journey, it’s been a fun journey,” the sixth-year quarterback said. “I just want to enjoy every single second of it. Going to have some fun with it.”
He’s 24 and earned a bachelor’s in psychology two years ago. He completed his Master’s in coaching education (emphasis on mental performance) in May. With that course load, he earned the right to take some electives this semester just to stay eligible, which he did .
