SCOTLAND'S national team heading to next year’s World Cup will provide a “special opportunity to raise Scotland’s profile on the global stage”, the First Minister has told business leaders.

Addressing an event hosted by the Scottish Chambers of Commerce on Thursday, John Swinney has urged businesses to work with the Government to take advantage of the side’s place at the competition.

Scotland beat Denmark 4-2 in a thriller at Hampden last week to secure the team’s first place at the men’s competition since 1998.
