HOLYOKE — With friends and family from across town in attendance for some Thanksgiving Day football, the Tigers put on a defensive showcase to remember.
South Hadley football ended its four-game losing streak with a 33-0 win over Holyoke on Thursday.
South Hadley wraps its season with a 5-6 record and improve to 7-1 in their annual ‘Battle of the Bridge’ matchup against the Purple Knights.
“It’s a big win for us, it’s been a rough season unfortunately due to injuries (and) illnesses,” South Hadley coach Brian Couture said. “We were down big time, so to see them play well today is always a good thing.
“A lot of these guys are friends with the Holyoke guys, being that we’re so close... it’s good to get the camaraderie in the battle back and forth.”
