JAMESTOWN – Volunteers served up 798 meals at the 34th Community Thanksgiving Dinner, on Thursday, said Amy Neustel, who co-chaired the dinner with Sue Corwin.
The free dinner was served by a delivery or drive-up process at Concordia Lutheran Church in Jamestown from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The traditional meal included turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, corn, cranberries and pumpkin dessert.
“We had a lot of volunteers this year, so that helped make things go smoother,” Neustel said, “so we were very excited about that. We were able to get the deliveries out in a quick, easy manner.”
The group planned for a thousand meals, and the leftover meals were donated to Daily Bread - Jamestown.
This is the last dinner to be organized by the committee, a dinner founded
