Southwest Arkansas High School Rodeo Association

After careful consideration and out of an abundance of caution, the Southwest Arkansas High School Rodeo Association has made the decision to cancel the December 13th rodeo scheduled at Circle J Cowboy Church in Texarkana, Arkansas. This decision follows the recent Equine Herpesvirus (EHV) outbreak reported in surrounding states.

The safety and well-being of our equine partners are paramount. We are fully committed to providing the safest environment possible for our student competitors and their horses. With that commitment in mind, the SWAHSRA Board will meet before the start of the new year to evaluate the situation and plan the remainder of our 2026 rodeo season in a way that best safeguards all o
