KATY, Texas (KLTV) - Twenty-two Italian greyhounds are reaching the end of a successful recovery after having been rescued from a Smith County home.
The rescues were amid 44 dogs recovered from neglectful conditions at a home on FM 345 September. The group, including 19 whippets and three standard poodles, was later turned over to Smith County Animal Control before being picked up by breed-specific rescues, including the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation.
“I think the hardest part was that they were pretty scared, you know, they were pretty timid,” said Dr. Joyce Li with Paw Doc Surgery + Dental Center in Katy. “I don’t know how much socialization they got or how much handling they had before that.”
