CANFIELD According to a dispatcher with the Canfield Police Department, about 50 residents have called the department asking about an apparent noise that is "as loud as a jet engine."
The last call the department received about the sound was around 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, November 27.
The cause of the noise, according to the dispatcher, is a gas leak behind a CVS, located at 601 East Main Street in Canfield.
Dispatch indicated that the gas leak is being caused by a pressure valve issue. Additionally, the dispatcher said that Enbridge Gas, the supplier of gas to the area, is aware of the situation and on-scene to investigate.
The dispatcher indicated that there is no immediate danger to the public.
