A landlord was ordered to pay £14,000 after pleading guilty to exposing his tenants to "the risk of serious harm". Neil McCann appeared on Tuesday (November 25) for sentencing at Sefton Magistrates court in Bootle after ignoring safety risks at his property and continuing to allow tenants to live in dangerous conditions.

The 58-year-old is a private landlord and rents out four flats at a property on Alexandra Road in Crosby . However, the court heard one of the tenants submitted a complaint to Sefton Council in October 2023, which then initiated an inspection of the house.
