The Toronto Blue Jays were the story of the Major League Baseball hot stove on Wednesday, when news broke in the evening of their reported seven-year, $210 million agreement with right-handed pitcher Dylan Cease.

But while the Cease signing still hadn't been made official as of Thursday afternoon, another 30-year-old right-handed pitcher with significantly less name recognition officially joined the Blue Jays organization on Wednesday.

According to the official MLB transactions log , the Blue Jays inked eight-year minor-leaguer Tanner Andrews to a minor-league deal on Wednesday. Andrews, who spent much of the last season in the Minnesota Twins organization after signing a contract in June, was assigned to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons on Thursday.
