Dublin cross country runner Daniel Santhiapillai is the Bay Area News Group’s boys high school athlete of the week for Nov. 17-22.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Santhiapillai had 47.6% of the vote to finish ahead of Los Gatos football player Gavin Jordan, who was second at 37.7%.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Santhiapillai, a senior, ran the fastest time at the NCS Division I cross country championships, crossing the finish line in 15:51.8. Dublin won the Division I championship.
