Sun Valley has had a Hollywood mystique since its inception. And this was no accident.
The glamourous aura of the 1930s was created by design and continues to enchant visitors and locals today. Take walk down the lobby hallway at the Sun Valley Lodge and you’ll see photos of A-list celebrities reaching back generations. Most of them came to ski. They still do.
Clark Gable, Marlene Dietrich and Ginger Rogers hit the slopes during the earliest days of the resort. Lucille Ball, Marylin Monroe and Gary Cooper, a close friend of Ernest Hemingway, also provided star power.
