EAGAN, Minn. — After not hearing his name get called during the NFL draft, quarterback Max Brosmer took a different route to the NFL.
The 24-year-old signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted rookie back in April, and now, seven months later, he'll be their starting quarterback.
Second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy was officially listed as out against the Seattle Seahawks Friday, leaving Brosmer as the Vikings' most viable option under center. Minnesota then followed with a post on X confirming that Brosmer would be in control of the offense Sunday.
McCarthy entered the concussion protocol earlier this week after getting battered in an embarrassing loss at Green Bay. While McCarthy was able to practice during the week , he didn't clear protocol early enough to prepare for one
