A Baltimore City transportation worker died on the job from injuries in an assault, according to charging documents.
Gregory Turnipseed, 71, was a 14-year veteran of the Department of Transportation when he was assaulted, city officials said in a statement Friday morning. Turnipseed was trying to assist in a parking dispute on St. Paul Street in Downtown Baltimore, officials said.
According to charging documents, Turnipseed was walking near Mercy Medical Center when he saw a car waiting for a black Chevrolet SUV to vacate a parking space. Turnipseed approached the SUV to tell the driver that the other driver was waiting.
