Traffic was backed up Friday on the Palmetto Expressway in Miami-Dade County as deputies and troopers stopped a reportedly stolen vehicle and detained several people.

The off-ramp was closed at SR-826 northbound near West Flagler Street for the investigation.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, a deputy recognized a white Range Rover Sport that was reported stolen and followed it on the Palmetto.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers were called as backup and stopped the vehicle, officials said.

The driver pulled over without incident and four people were taken into custody.

Further information was not available.
