The Town of Tillsonburg has set aside $28,000 for a future feasibility study into a multi-use recreation facility.

The study is expected to run about $85,000; the remaining funds would come from the town’s development charges reserve.

During a council meeting last December, council received a presentation from representatives of the Tillsonburg Kinsmen Club and Basketball Tillsonburg proposing a new facility in town with the help from the community and higher levels of government.

Staff reviewed the application criteria and consulted with the Ministry of Sport Regional Advisor to review grant requirements and timelines.

Though application deadlines for the next round of provincial funding have passed, the town will debate the feasibility study next year.
