WASHBURN, N.D. — This summer, the town of Washburn, ND is set to erect a memorial to Clint Hill, a local legend who is known for his many years of heroic service to five US presidents as a Secret Service agent.
Anyone who is familiar with the Zapruder tapes — the civilian video that caught the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on film — knows Clint Hill. Mere split-seconds after the shot rang out that struck the president in the head, Hill is seen on the tape leaping onto the back of the moving presidential limousine to shield the president and first lady from further danger.
