LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Southern Kentucky family is dealing with the loss of their home after fire destroyed the residence on Gastineau Lane early Thursday morning.
Brittany Pollitt and her 4- and 7-year-old children were not home when the fire occurred. The home was fully involved when firefighters arrived, according to fire officials.
“I am just thankful that everyone is helping. Just thankful we wasn’t home. We are all okay. It could have been really bad,” Pollitt said.
Pollitt said she lost almost everything she owned and a lifetime of memories in the fire.
“This is the house that I grew up in. It’s paid for. Wasn’t much but it was all we had,” she said.
