RUTLEDGE — Morristown West racked up its third straight victory in the Pizza Plus Thanksgiving Classic by topping host Grainger County, 62-53, Wednesday afternoon.

The Trojans broke open a close game by scoring the first 11 points of the final quarter and went on to improve to 3-2 on the season.

Will DesGroseilliers led the way with 20 points and was the only Trojan to reach double figures. Freshman Tucker McLain and Anderson Noe added nine points each and Jamere Williams contributed eight.

Grainger County, now 1-3, had three in double digits led by Parker Creswell’s 15. Carver Turley added 14 and Jackson Trent 10.

The Grizzlies led 16-13 at the end of the first period and 30-26 at halftime before the rallied to a 46-45 lead at the final break.
