Boston College earned a 5-3 win over Notre Dame on Friday afternoon thanks in part to a big game from a Bruins prospect .

Despite taking a 1-0 lead into the second period and tying the game at 2-2, the Fighting Irish couldn’t take back the lead once they relinquished it.

James Hagens scored a hat trick for the Eagles, and Dean Letourneau had a goal as he continued his strong sophomore season .

Hagens , who was drafted in first round of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft by the Bruins , scored his first goal of the game late in the second period to give BC its first lead of the game on a backhand attempt after an odd-man rush.

The second goal came two minutes later on a shot from down low to give BC a 4-2 lead going into the third.
