A 44-year-old Big Island man has been charged with murder and other offenses in the fatal shooting of a man in Mountain View Tuesday, Hawaii County officials said.
Joseph Davis was charged Wednesday with second-degree murder and weapon charges, including use of a firearm in a commission of a felony, in the death of 52-year-old John Marshall Marrou, of Volcano.
According to Hawaii island police, at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Puna patrol officers responded to a report of a man being shot multiple times in the parking lot of the Mountain View Mini Mart. Callers reported that the suspect was still at the scene with the firearm.
