INDIANAPOLIS -- Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard will sit out Friday night's game against the Wizards with a right quad contusion, coach Rick Carlisle said in his pre-game press conference.
Nembhard is averaging 17.5 points and 6.2 assists per game this season. He's also averaging a career-high 13.8 field goals per game as he's starting at point guard with All-Star Tyrese Haliburton out for the season with a right Achilles tendon tear. He's shooting 39.5% from the floor, which would be a career-worst, but he's scored in double figures in all but two games this season.
With Nembhard out, the Pacers could use veteran backup T.J. McConnell as the starter but could also use wing Ben Sheppard, who has played point in several games this season.
