While Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara is struggling with his shot through the first quarter of the season, the defensive stalwart’s ability to draw offensive fouls is still in rare form.

Camara’s tendency to force turnovers through charges and other whistles was one of three NBA trends that The Athletic’s Fred Katz highlighted in a piece on Friday (subscription required). Katz noted Camara is on pace not just to surpass his number of offensive fouls drawn from last season (91), but the NBA single-season record for that stat. He is putting up those numbers by utilizing a novel technique that Katz has dubbed the “anti-flop.”
