CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - As the holiday season ramps up, two Cedar Rapids restaurants are embracing the busy stretch by adding festive decor and welcoming both regulars and first-time visitors.
At The Double Z Bar & Grill, owner Jaymz Larson says holiday weekends — especially Black Friday — tend to bring in more customers than usual.
“We see more traffic. People are out shopping, Hawkeyes are playing today, so for us we look forward to holidays, especially Black Friday,” Larson said.
He’s also noticing more new faces this year, partly because the restaurant stays open on days when others choose to close.
“Not every bar is open on Thanksgiving or around the holidays, so we got some new faces that way,” he said. “Honestly we were double what we did last year on Thanksgiving, so I thin
