ATLANTA — The U.S. Soccer Federation wants the country to be one of the hosts of the 2031 FIFA Women's World Cup. And if its bid is accepted, Atlanta could become one of the host cities.
There was a Nov. 28 deadline for FIFA to receive pitches for the Women's World Cup for 2031 and 2035. As for 2031, FIFA received a joint submission from the U.S. Soccer Federation, the Mexican Football Association, the Costa Rican Football Association, and the Jamaica Football Federation.
The bid boasts more than 35 potential cities where the matches could be held across the four countries. Top U.S. cities included Houston, the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the New York/New Jersey area, Los Angeles, and Atlanta.
