EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Some people like to decorate for Christmas the day after Halloween. Others, the day after Thanksgiving.

Boy Scout Troop 399 knows that more than anyone, as they’ve been selling Christmas trees on West Franklin Street for decades.

“We’ve been doing it for quite some time, almost 70 years now, we’ve just got the trees in this year. Last week, we started with the Fraziers. This year, we’ve got the balsams a little bit later... but they’re here. All the trees, all the wreaths, all the swag that you can imagine, we’re selling it,” Tree Lot Chairman Jason McCord said.

McCord says because they’ve been selling trees for so many years, they’ve gotten to watch families grow.
