CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - As another round of winter weather settles in, Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) crews are working overtime to keep roads safe for weekend travelers.
ODOT has deployed more than 260 crews on the roads since Wednesday afternoon as snow continues into the weekend.
Brent Kovacs with ODOT said crews remain in full response mode.
“We don’t take days off, and we are doing the best that we can to keep up with these lake effect bands that can drop a lot of snow and drop it quickly,” Kovacs said.
Over the past 24 hours, ODOT crews have driven more than 24,000 miles to keep commutes as safe as possible. Kovacs said conditions have been challenging and unpredictable.
“Really the conditions have varied from mile to mile from minute to minute,” Kovacs said.
