The most interested spectator at next week’s Super 7 football championships in Birmingham just might be Danny Corte.

The executive director of the Mobile Sports Authority will be paying close attention to how the event is managed with Mobile on deck to host for the first time in 2026.

“I feel comfortable with where we are right now,” Corte said this week. “Once we get past the holidays, we will get more aggressive on recruiting volunteers and pinning down specific details. I think we’ve done as much as we can do until it gets a little closer.”
