DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (WREX) — A small plane crashed into a neighborhood in a suburb of Chicago.
Around 12:10 p.m. on Friday, a small single engine plane was trying to land at Brookeridge Airpark, a residential airport in Downers Grove. The airport is about 25 miles southwest of downtown Chicago.
The pilot then lost control of the plane, causing it to veer off the runway, roll over, and end up in a backyard, according to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office .
The pilot and passenger were taken to a local hospital with non-serious injuries, according to the Sheriff's Office.
There were no further updates.
