Akron Mayor Shammas Malik called out President Donald Trump on Facebook for his comments on Truth Social about Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minnesota.

Trump called Walz "the seriously retarded Governor" and said Omar is “always wrapped in her swaddling hijab " in a Thanksgiving night post about immigration Nov. 27.

Malik also highlighted derogatory comments Trump made recently about three female White House reporters.

Malik on Facebook said that while Trump's insults have been taking place for a decade, "it’s still worth pointing out that this behavior is unacceptable from the leader of our country."

Such behavior wouldn't be tolerated from a friend, colleague or child, Malik said.
