SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WMTV) -The 110th annual Fire and Lights Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony in Sun Prairie has been cancelled due to the forecasted winter storm, city officials announced on Friday.

The event was scheduled to take place at 5p.m. on Saturday, November 29.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 3 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.

The city is forecast to see between 9-12 inches of snow.

A First Alert Day is in place for Saturday and Sunday, as First Alert Meteorologist Brian Doogs is forecasting a strong winter storm. The storm is expected to bring snow to all of southern Wisconsin. The heaviest snow will likely fall from late Saturday morning through Saturday night, with widespread totals exceeding six inches.
