DETROIT -- For six straight possessions, Lumen Christi could not find the end zone in Friday’s Division 6 state title game at Ford Field.
After scoring on their first two possessions of the evening, the Titans kept coming up short time and time again in the second and third quarters, allowing Kingsley to tie the game.
But eventually, the Titan offense got back on track, putting together one drive to get back in front, then another score for insurance to pull out a 28-14 win.
That win is Lumen Christi’s fourth state title in a row, and 15th state title overall.
Things looked promising for the Lumen Christi offense early, scoring on the first drive when Ayden Gatewood scored from 25 yards out, and then adding a two-play scoring drive when Sean Walicki raced 60 yards for a score.
