1Vietnam veteran honored in Teaneck for decades of service to country and community
Teaneck, NJ – A Vietnam War veteran who once manned communications in the jungles of Southeast Asia is being honored by the Teaneck Police Department for his continued service to fellow veterans right here at home.
Mr. Lenny Hennig, who was drafted into the U.S. Army on January 11, 1968, is the final honoree this month in Teaneck’s series recognizing military service and community dedication. Hennig began his military journey with Basic Training at Fort Dix before advancing to infantry training with the elite 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He later received specialized communications training at Fort Lewis in Washington.
