GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Dozens of shoppers packed stores across Greenville on Black Friday, taking advantage of holiday deals despite recent reports of declining consumer confidence.
Multiple shoppers said they traveled to Greenville from other counties to visit as many stores as possible before the day ended. Many described the experience as enjoyable despite large crowds.
“I came a little bit earlier than I usually do, and nobody’s been rude or unpleasant. It’s been a really good experience,” said Marie Ray, a shopper.
Todd Crouch, store operations manager at Academy Sports in Greenville, said Black Friday represents the culmination of months of preparation for retailers.
