GARDEN VALLEY, Calif. —
A resident of El Dorado County, California, woke up to a ding-dong ditcher on Wednesday. Surveillance footage captured the furry visitor.
Dennis Webster of Garden Valley shared a Nest video with sister station KCRA showing a bear walking up to his front door, observing the camera for a few seconds before walking away. While the video has no audio, Webster said the bear managed to ring the doorbell, waking up people inside the home. Advertisement
Bear encounters, such as with this ding-dong ditcher, are becoming more common in areas populated by humans. Wildlife officials urge residents to take extra precautions, such as storing food properly, to help reduce the likelihood of bears and other animals getting too close to your property.
