WHITEHALL – In crunch time, Southern Lehigh had one plan Friday night. It was Sean Steckert or nothing.
In the end, it was enough.
Steckert’s 40th carry of the game was a 3-yard touchdown with 31 seconds to play at Whitehall High School, helping the Spartans overcome three second-half turnovers in a 28-24 win over Cardinal O’Hara in the PIAA Class 4A semifinal.
Steckert carried 40 times for 209 yards. He was the only Spartan with a positive rushing plan on the night. He was also the only one, it seemed, who could hold onto the ball Friday night.
